Carmen is a national touring stand up comedian now living in Sarasota, FL. He graduated Pleasant Valley High School and then went to the University of Iowa where he began his stand-up comedy career.
His first club dates at the Cleveland Comedy Club encouraged him to move to Los Angeles where he became a regular at the Santa Monica Improv. There, co-owner Mark Lonow, helped shape and transform Carmen's comedic style. This led to the creation of "The Construction Comic," a character based on Carmen's experiences working in the construction industry. This persona ultimately led to a successful three-year stint on one of the first home improvement shows on the Discovery Channel.
Sirius/XM radio has picked up two of Carmen's comedy specials. He's also performed at major comedy clubs across the country, such as The Improv, The Punchline, SideSplitters, The Comic Strip and Catch a Rising Star, among many others.
Last year, Carmen's Dry Bar comedy special was filmed in Provo, Utah and this year Open Bar Comedy filmed his new special at McCurdy’s Comedy Club in Sarasota which will be released soon!
Carmen has amassed over 350,000 social media followers across all platforms with his stand-up bits and character sketches. His stand-up is a mixture of his blue-collar upbringing and observational style, often focusing on the absurdity of everyday situations and the quirks of human behavior!
Opening for Carmen will be Quad City comic Bobby Ray Bunch.
Don't wait to reserve your seats as this homecoming is sure to sell out quickly!
